Getting Babies Vaccinated?

I would like to hear what all of your ideas and comments are about vaccinations for babies and what you think of the media. Do you think they are harmful?

Do any of you have any stories to tell?

I am just curious.

Blessings.

I recently got into this topic a few weeks ago. In reality, I want to believe that they are good for babies, and we all hope that they will be, but I've been studying the effects of the vaccines and some saying they are linked to autism. I don't think anything is verified and they can't confirm it, but the coincidences are unremarkable.

My daughter had a friend who refused to vaccinate her child. When he was 9 months old he came down with whooping cough. They almost lost him. She then told my daughter who was pregnant with her first child to have the shots. She wished she had.

We used to have terrible epidemics of childhood diseases. There was a town in Ohio whose cemetery is filled with the tombstones of children under a year old who all died within three months of the same disease. It was half of the infant population of the town. Most people who do not immunize take advantage of the fact that most people do so these epidemics are rare.

There is risk with immunizations as with anything. It is safer to have your pediatrician give the individual shot rather than take it out of a muliti-dose vial. This is because with the single shot, the child gets a complete measured dose.

With a multi-dose vial, it requires light shaking to mix ingredients that settle to the bottom. Since all ingredients are the same color, how do you know your child got the right amount of each serum? You don't really know how well it was mixed. With an individual pre-measured vial they will get the right dose. Some insurances will not pay for the individual doses. In my state they are required to if requested.

Autism as a developmental disorder usually shows up at around the same time children are recommended to have their vaccinations. Unfortunately, this has led a lot of people to believe that the vaccinations actually caused the autism to occur, when in fact, autism just shows up at that time, regardless of vaccinations.

The "research" that supposedly shows that vaccinations cause autism was falsified--the chief researcher finally admitted to this last year. Unfortunately, this has done a lot of damage, as there are now so many people who are afraid to vaccinate their children. We are beginning to see a comeback of some nasty diseases that we had thought had been eradicated.

I think that because none of us have lived through the childhood mortality of the days before vaccines, we take it for granted and minimize the devastation that can actually be caused by some of these horrible diseases. I think it is simply bad parenting not to protect your child, although there is a lot of really bad information out there trying to scare parents and make them believe the opposite.

Never. My step grandson (3 months old) died 3 days after vaccine. Doctor and coroner blew it off " get outta my face thing" Coroner had classes for SIDS parents, 10 of them. Stepson attended and asked all parents in the class if their SIDS baby had just been vaccinated. Every one vaccinated no more than 5 days before they died. Not one reached the statistics. I got multiple sclerosis within the week after a vaccine. Friend got Lupus week of vaccine. Cancers can start immediately after vaccine. Juvie arthritis, dementia, leukemia and scores of auto immune problems because of vaccines.

If you study as i have you find poisons cook your brains. In vaccines they call them adjuvents. Mercury, aluminum, rotting monkey kidneys and brains, puss from animals, formaldahyde (used to pickle the dead), antifreeze and other auto immune destroyers pumped into a system saying this will keep you well. vaclib.org is a good source of anti vaccine info. and information on the adjuvents. Big pharmaceutical makes money on illness, not wellness. Follow the money train. Ask parents of autistics if their child had just been vaccinated prior to their first symptoms. Ask anyone with auto immune problems if their first symptoms were immediately after vaccine. Vaclib.org has form for opting out of vaccine.

Nothing in my constitution says government can put foreign substance into my body. Opt out for schools demand. Only vaccine by law required here in the states is rabies vac for your dog. Read "Dont get Stuck". Read small print on package containing vaccine. Printing is size of fly poop and a yard long. Pharma smarts got our government to assume damage claims for vaccine atrocities. Read, don't trust the blabber as it is nothing but advertisement for brain damage and worse. Don't damage your child. Look at the autism rates. Look at the rates of all auto-immune problems. Climbing.

Tell school to put that needle where the sun don't shine. They cannot force you and don't let them tell you so. Simple decline and sign paper should be enough. Private school can refuse to admit your child. Public school may send your unvaccinated chld home if there is an epidemic. So what.

Mincuti has her information all backwards. Researcher was ostracized by big powers. He was proven absolutely right. Name starts with a B. They tried to ruin him when he spoke the truth. Autism IS caused by vaccines most times. Follow the money train

I once had a 30 year old cerebral palsy patient who contracted the disease after his six month infant vaccinations. He was born completely healthy. I believe that an adverse reaction can occur after any drug or vaccination. I also have a good friend with polio and I myself contracted HPV years before there was a vaccine for it.

I developed cervical cancer and had a hysterectomy a few years ago. The choice is yours, but I believe the chances of your baby contracting an illness from not being vaccinated are greater than your baby suffering an adverse reaction from the shots. My three girls are completely vaccinated.

The chances of an adverse reaction to all vaccines (whether as a child or adult) are so very, very rare whereas the possiblity of life threatening diseases by not having them is enormous. My question to any person who would not give the regular childhood vaccination series is, "Could you live with yourself if the child contracted a disease that could easily have been prevented?"

Oh, and as for the media? They'll jump on 'any' bandwagon to increase their ratings to put money in their pocket without even doing thorough research on a subject before reporting it. Accuracy and honesty within the journalism community is barely existent anymore. :-(

I have seven children whom were all vaccinated. The benefits outweigh the risks, which are very minimal. They should be vaccinated especially with all these new viruses around. You will be glad you did!

This is a very personal and important decision. It requires a lot of personal research. You will find passionate opinions on both sides of the issue with a lot of conflicting information. I urge you to cut through the intense emotions and look at the facts. There are some very good books out there about this topic.

One I highly recommend is "Make an Informed Vaccine Decision for the Health of Your Child: A Parent's Guide to Childhood Shots". This book helped me tremendously.

There are very good reasons to skip vaccinating your baby. For example, the incidence of crib death rose sharply in Japan when they changed their vaccination schedule. They used to begin vaccinating at 2 years of age, but they changed to a schedule similar to what the U.S. uses.

Getting vaccinations are not a guarantee your child will not get the disease anyway. Many still get the diseases; although, doctors and the government don't want you to know that. Chances of getting and dying from a disease we have a vaccine for is LOW. I could write a whole book on why not to vaccinate or to at least wait until your child is 2 years old, but you won't be convinced one way or the other until you have done the research yourself.

Another issue is mercury in the vaccines. The government and probably your doctor will tell you that mercury has been removed from vaccines. It is not true. It has been reduced, but it is still there. They have changed the guidelines as to how much mercury can be allowed in a vaccine and still be called mercury free. The correct term is actually thimerosol free.

People on both sides of the issue like to use scare tactics. Yes, babies die from whooping cough, but they also die from vaccines. My sister nearly died after an MMR shot, and you can find many cases where the baby actually did die.

It is a fact that both diseases and the vaccines cause death. Again, this is an issue that is very personal and one you have to research and decide for your own family. Statistics are wonderful things, and statistically speaking you and your family are going to be safe no matter which way you decide. However, statistics don't matter when it is your baby that has been damaged or killed by a vaccine or a disease.

I tend to be a bit dubious on the medical industry but we opted to have our daughter vaccinated. Are there risks of a severe reaction? Yes, but I think the liklihood of her catching a serious illness is greater. We even opted to have her get the TB vaccine (something I think isn't commonly given in the US) because there's a high incidence of the disease in our city.

We're fortunate in this day and age not to have to worry much about serious childhood diseases that have claimed many lives. People who choose not to have their children vaccinated are relying on "herd immunity" to keep their kids safe, but we didn't want to take that risk. I wouldn't blame anyone for being skeptical of the motivations and practices of the pharm industry, and some kids do have bad reactions to vaccines true. But on balance I think vaccines are a good thing. Some people choose to delay or stagger their children's shots as another option.

As for the media? They thrive on scare stories about anything. Always take any news story with a hefty spoonful of salt.

You need to research the diseases that the vaccines prevent, and the risks of getting the vaccines, and decide from there. I don't have any stake in vaccines, but am a nurse. I think vaccines are good things. You can research online very easily, the doctor and others that believe autism is related to vaccines, and also the other side as well.

Any medication or vaccine can have consequences, side effects, etc, even some that are very rare. Would you withhold fever reducing medication from your child if he/she had a fever?

Would you withhold antibiotics from your child if he/she had a bacterial infection that it could help treat? These are things you need to consider for all situations.

Hope you find a happy medium and an answer that works for you and your family. We chose to vaccinate all of our children, the youngest of whom is now 22, and no adverse effects.

Thank you very much for all your responses. I appreciate it and it have given me a good idea of what the issues are!
