Duct Tape as Medical Tape Replacement

Last weekend we were camping and at around 11pm, the camper next to us broke his finger. I set it using a tongue depressor and then wrapped it gauze. When I went to tape it with medical tape, to my horror, we didn't have any medical tape and so we used duct tape instead. It worked perfect cutting it to the correct size and it was waterproof, too. This got him thru the night so he could seek medical attention the next day. Lesson learned: Always check your medical kit and replace anything that is outdated or used up. Thank goodness my son brought the duck tape.
