I got this recipe from my friend, Marian G. This is a wonderful dessert! Nice enough even for more elegant occasions!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups mini marshmallows
  • 2/3 cup white syrup
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) margarine
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. peanut butter chips
  • 2 cups Rice Krispies
  • 2 cups salted nuts
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla

Directions:

Mix cake mix, 1/2 cup margarine, and egg. Bake in 9x13 inch pan at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes. Remove and add marshmallows. Bake 1-2 minutes longer and cool while making topping.

Topping: Cook syrup, 1/4 cup margarine and vanilla to boil. Add peanut butter chips and Rice Krispies. Spread over marshmallows. Press on 2 cups salted nuts.

Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cooking Time: 17 Minutes

This really sounds awesomely good, but I would offer that you add the vanilla after boiling the syrup and margarine. Heating extracts evaporates the flavor, so always remove ingredients from heat before mixing them in.
