I just bought an old elliptical. Every few minutes as I am riding it it will make this sudden loud bang/clunk/pop sound. Any idea how to fix this? It scares the bejesus out of me. Thanks.

Could you explain just what an Elliptical is? Some kind of exercise equipment? Bicycle? I think that we here in US don't know.
