Just Google "water absorbing crystal" for lots of places to order them. Visit the Steve Spengler Science site for some great kid-periments to do with the crystals or powder, too.

Go to and type in cool ties pattern, and several patterns will come up. You can buy the fill at a garden center. May even have at Walmart garden centers.
