Murphys oil soap is great. Once they are clean, you can use the same brand of stain to keep them looking nicer. If you don't have a window in your bathroom, I suggest a fan, if you don't already have one. Wood and steam, which damages and ages unprotected wood, is a culprate. Good luck!

Try Restor-A-Finish. You can buy it for about $7 at Home Depot. When you rub it on it takes water marks and scratches right out.

I used it on my kitchen cabinets and a coffee table I bought on Craigslist, which looks brand new now.
