Reusing Mandarin Orange Boxes

You know those sturdy wooden crates that you buy mandarin oranges in? I paint them, decoupage nice pictures on the sides and use them for storing items in the bathroom. I put it on the counter or on the tank of the toilet. Everyone loves them. Other uses could be: baby items in the nursery, stationary items in offices or bedrooms.

Hi,
Do the grocery stores give them to you? I never see any of them where I shop, the oranges are just out or either in plastic bags.
Thanks,
Kathy

I use them in combination with baskets in my pantry and laundry room to group like items (baking items, sauces, condiments, etc.). You can easily pull the boxes out to see what's in the back. Makes the pantry a lot neater and they come with the fruit, so they're "free". Also helps to keep smaller things from falling over if you have wire shelves.

I keep the area under my kitchen counter organized by storing my electrical appliances in the mandarin orange boxes. My can opener and small food chopper fit in one, my food processor fits in another one and my blender fits in another.

All I need to do is slide the box out to use the appliance I need and place it back in the box when I am finished and slide it back in it's place under the counters.
