Getting Internet While Traveling?

I'm currently traveling a good bit and recently have had a problem with getting online. Up until now the internet has been supplied with our room but now I'm finding that I need a good but cheap way to get online.

Verizon says it will be at least $59.99 but that is not unlimited and will require a 2 year contract. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm doing some research on Magic Jack for a land line number then thought I'd try to get something like Net Zero. Do you think that would work?

I can't tell you anything about the internet while traveling but I'll tell you a bit about Magic Jack. I live in Washington state. When I hooked up my MJ they gave me an Alabama number! Fine for if I call out because my calls are free but if someone in my same town wants to call me, they pay long distance charges to Alabama.

MJ keeps saying that "we will have more area codes available soon". So - just a warning for anyone who is considering buying a MJ. I've had mine a year - what do they call "soon"?
