I have looked all over our town for southern star tomato plants with zero results. Lowe's carried them two years past but not since. Can you help ?

The reason you may not be able to find a favourite variety is because there was a blight on several plants in the tomato family and the plant nurseries have pulled the varieties that seemed to be the most susceptible.
Lowes buys a lot of their nursery stock from a huge nursery in FL, and those blight hit 'maters were a great disappointment to a lot of Southern gardeners in the 2009-2010 season. I was one of them, it was really sad to see.
Luckily Lowes is a reputable company and they quickly put out information for gardeners, and pulled the affected plants from their shelves.
