Honey-Do Memo Board

I always have lot of things that I could use my husband's help with, but I really needed a centralized location to list them all out. I came up with this idea of a honey-do memo board after I saw the honeycomb scrapbooking paper at the store!

  1. Cut out template pieces.
  2. Trace wing template with a pencil. Cut them out and use an eraser to remove any pencil marks. Set them aside.
  3. Ad
  4. Trace the bee body and cut out.
  5. Ad
  6. Trace the stripes and cut them out. Apply glue to the back of the stripes.
  7. Ad
  8. Glue the stripes onto the bee body. Note: The stripes will overhang the body.
  9. Ad
  10. Use scissors to trim of the overhanging part of each stripe.
  11. Ad
  12. Apply glue to the wings and attach them to the body.
  13. Trim off the edge of the paper that has writing on it, if necessary.
  14. Lay the glass from the picture frame onto the back of the paper, trace with a pencil, and trim off any excess paper.
  15. Put the paper into the frame and put the frame back together.
  16. Use a pencil to mark where the wire will be inserted for the antennae. Lay the bee onto the foam sheet (optional) and use a pin to punch holes.
  17. Cut a length of wire and bend it as shown below. Then insert it into the holes, from the back.
  18. Cut off excess wire, to achieve the desired length. Then apply a small piece of tape to the back to hold the wire in place.
  19. Apply the sticker letters. Use a ruler to keep the letters straight.
  20. Apply double-stick tape to the back of the bee, then attach it to the memo board. Hang it up and add your honey do's!

I always laugh when I hear of wives "Honey Do" lists...there was never one for my husband as he always had something for me "to take care of". Besides I've always been the handyman for projects around the home. If he ever made me an actual list I would have bopped him on the head! His jobs were always in management so I figured that was his personality, and it never ended at his retirement. He is dealing with stage 4 cancer now and is worried that there will be no one to tell me how to do the books. We've done this well for 57 years and still going strong and I love and respect him dearly.
