Place sliced cucumbers into a shallow bowl. Sprinkle with salt and toss gently; set aside for 1 hour. Meanwhile, combine sugar and vinegar in saucepan. Bring to a full boil. Remove from heat and cool. Drain cucumbers; add sliced onions and cover with cool vinegar-sugar mixture. Chill at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
In a medium bowl, combine cuke slices and onion slices; set aside. In a small bowl, combine rest of ingredients. Add dressing to cucumber and onion; toss well. Cover and refrigerate for up to two hours. Serves 4
