I would try a warm iron and paper towels. Lay down the paper towel, then press the iron on it, continue to blot until you get it up. Don't start out with the iron too hot. It could damage the carpet. But the warm iron should melt the wax and transfer it to the towel.

You can hold an ice cube to it, and after a couple minutes, it should come up. Either one would work.

Always did the warm iron and many paper towels,not just one.Use 3-4 at a time once it soaks up some of the then melted wax repeat the process. It really works,make sure you don't touch iron to carpet without paper towels.

I have even used it on a speaker front where wax melted down, looked new again. Good luck!
