Can I use any kind of vinegar with baking soda for cleaning or does it have to be white?
You can use any. If it's something that needs to be cleaned gently, dilute extra.
I would use white. Colored vinegars may stain.
I use both.
Can I use a solution of vinegar to clean the wooden surface on my RV interior? Is there a safe amount? Thanks.
By araucano from FL
I mix mine half white vinegar and half water in a spray bottle.
I have used a clean damp rag, soaked in white vinegar and wrung out well, on several different wood surfaces for general cleaning. (Rinse the rag with water and re dip and wring as you go.) However, most wood (unless it is completely sealed with something like polyurethane) still needs to be treated with a wood oil or wood wax a few times a year.
Yes. 2 cups vinegar to 3 or 4 gallons of water will make a cleaning solution that can't be beat!!! You can even wipe down the paneled walls being careful to not leave too much water that would make the paneling warp. The amount up above is what I use for my own cleaning. You can leave it right on the walls and appliances and even in the fridge as vinegar is a natural substance and will not taint food or give off a horrible smell. Use white vinegar for the least vinegary smell, but any vinegar will work. God Bless and Merry Christmas!
What scent can I add to vinegar base solution to make it smell better?
By Ginger from Whistler BC
Maybe there are many other things but of all I have tried lemon is the only one that is all purpose. Meaning doesn't leave streaks, or a slight film on floor, counters, and appliances. It is safe to use around food and works great.
I love lavender however not for all purpose cleaner. Maybe you can try other citrus. Lime is good, orange is great for furniture, wood floors. My latest experiment is eucalyptus. I have seen so many uses for it on TV, organic stores so I'm trying it myself. Organic cleaning is all I do.
Good luck...hey, let me know how it goes. All you do with your vinegar in water, is put several squeezes of lemon in the bottle. You'll notice vinegar smell evaporates, leaving behind that fresh lemon, clean smell.
Vinegar has no odor after it is used for cleaning purposes. That's what is so good about it. It removes bad odors and leaves things smelling fresh and clean.
Momma swears by this, but due to being struck by a car she is unable to remember parts and pieces of many things, such as the recipe/how to/what for is one of these things. Please give the above info if you or an elderly family member has ever used vinegar and brown paper bags for cleaning anything and thanks from Momma for a returned memory.
Sorry about your mom!
It's probably just window cleaning- which is 1/4 to 1/2 cup white vinegar to 2 cups water. Mix into a spray bottle and use the brown paper bag to clean the windows..IF you get streaks it's from residue from previous window spray. If you don't want streaks add a few drops of dish detergent to the mixture!
