Saving Money on Magazines

I am addicted to magazines, but can't afford to buy them all. Now I do two things to feed my fix:

  • I ask every office (Doctor, Nail Salon, Hairdresser, etc.) if I can have their old magazines. They are usually delighted to get rid of those over 3 months old.

  • I subscribe to a free magazine website and get about a dozen as promotions: http://www.all-freemagazines.com/

Then I donate all my old magazines to my gym, hospitals, and nursing homes.

Your local library has magazines to check out just like the books. Our library also encourages everyone to bring their magazines and put them on a stand by the door then pick up any they want that others have left. So we swap out. Any that get too old are given to crafters. We are too far away to give to veteran's hospitals but they alway enjoy getting them. If we know a vet is going to the doctor, we send some with him.

What a great idea. I just signed up with your recommendation. I look forward to such fun.
I subscribe to a few mags, the ones I could negotiate a lower price with. I also tell every friend or neighbor that I would like their mags when they are done with them.

When I am finished with the mags, I take them to the clinics and trade out mine for theirs.

I can usually find magazine content online too. Some magazines are online in full, like Reader's Digest.
