Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

These are approximate measurements; the recipe can be tweaked to your own taste. It can also be used as the base to make chip/vegetable dip by adding it to sour cream.


  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk, or 1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice, plus milk or soy milk to make 1/2 cup (I've had success using less)
  • 1/2 tsp. dried parsley flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder or granules
  • 1/8 tsp. onion powder
  • pinch dried thyme
  • pinch dried oregano
  • pinch paprika


Combine all ingredients in a jar, cover, and shake well. Refrigerate for several hours before using.
