I have one if you want to eat really really cheap or are a vegetarian or single.
Buy TVP texturized vegetable protein, not in chunks, it also comes in granules in the bulk section of the health food store. It is cheap, doesn't go bad, and very nutritious.
Since the main flavor in Sloppy Joes or tacos is the sauce in seasoning--this stuff works great.
I take some out of the jar, usually a cup for a small can of sloppy joe sauce and cook it on the stove with about a half cup of water added. You cook it until it swells and softens and looks like ground beef.
You can kinda taste the difference, I put chopped green peppers in mine to liven it up. But it is low fat and good for you.
I do the same thing when making tacos and substitue it for the ground beef. I like this one better.
This stuff got me through college when I was tired of ramen....I had roomates and limited freezer space.

I also have a great sloppy joe recipe. Brown and drain 2 pounds of ground beef, add one jar of Heinz chilli sauce and one can of tomato soup (campbells). heat until hot. Serve with choice of toppings on buns. Enjoy

I used to buy ground beef in that amount. When my family was still home. Here are a couple of suggestions.
Brown some meat with onion(regular or dried minced), garlic(minced or powder), oregano and pepper. Then portion it out into plastic fold over sandwich bags and place 4 or 5 into a gallon zip loc bag and freeze. Thereby having a base ready for chili, spaghetti or casseroles.
Next I would make up meatloaves of whatever size I wanted then bag and freeze raw to cook when defrosted.
I'm sure you can think of lots more to do with all your lovely meat such as the tasty recipe you posted. When I was working, I did a lot of weekend prep that went into the freezer.
