Putting on a Bracelet By Yourself

I live alone so sometimes have a difficult time putting a bracelet or watch on by myself so I tape one end on my wrist with cellophane tape so it stays put and then I can take the other end and hook it together. Works every time!

I like the cellophane tape idea, Elaine!

GailNY: you reminded me of stretch bracelets, or the open sided (& closed) cuff bracelets so you don't have to deprive yourself.

I haven't tried it yet but it seems a simple small cup hook screwed into (say) the inside of closet door at the height needed, would give one the "3rd hand" needed to assist the bracelet fastening.

Also, several years ago I saw a gadget in a catalog recommended for the same. It was (then) $2-3, probably $8 or 10 now if they are still sold.

The cellophane tape idea is still the less expensive one. Thanks!

I wear bracelets on my right wrist. So I take a pencil (or something similar -- long), and hold it with my right hand against my wrist while I fasten the clasp with my left hand.

Great idea! I refuse to wear bracelets because I do not want to take the time to struggle with getting one on. Next time I even think about wearing a bracelet you can bet I will try your method. (Why have I never thought of doing that?)
