I want to find some thrift shops in London, where they sell designer vintage clothes, too. I hear they are good quality and designer unique clothes. Lily, Essex

They have lots of trunk sales (I believe they're called), which are a lot like our yard sales or flea markets. People load up their car trunks and park together, selling their wares out of them. They shouldn't bee hard to find.

Dear Pat,

There are many charity shops in most parts of London and for the nicest/designer clothes I would suggest King's Road and Fulham Road.
I have recently visited London with very limited funds and this is where I found some really nice and quality clothing. There are usually about 4 or 5 charity shops near each other and you can ask them where the others are.

Good luck,

Ivana from Croatia

From my student days they don't have thrift shops per se - but there are charity shops - like OxFam- & the other alternative - street markets - Check those out - there used to be one way up past the Portobello road market after you pass under the railroad bridge - I wonder if it's still there....Check for guides to London that list the markets, their locations & days - & have a blast! There's great stuff to be found.
