What are examples of non-water based cleaners? I have a fabric sofa that has been scotchgarded and has been stained with a clear liquid soap.

Alcohol would be none water-based, but would surely
remove Scotchgard..but could also be resprayed easily.

Another cleaner is Cetafil complexion liquid soap substitute from WalMart that MIGHT work. Test it in an inconspicuous area first. It will likely ALSO take the Scotchgard off at that spot, but a can of Scotchgard is easy to buy and use! Don't be afraid of doing this. Renewing Scotchgarded fabric is easy.
Good luck. : )
