I have no idea what I did wrong with this recipe but what a mess I made. I doubled the recipe in an effort to make enough to serve the torte along with our New Year's Eve appetizers. However... instead, I ended up with a house full of smoke, a huge mess on the bottom of my oven, and a dessert that I couldn't serve.

This torte boiled over so bad and all that was left was a gooey mess in the pan that wasn't even worth serving. What a shame and what a waste of ingredients.

*Should you try this recipe, place it on a cookie tray, watch it as it bakes, and I'm guessing that maybe even a lower oven temp with a longer timing might help so it's not left gooey. Good luck.
