How do you remove turkey grease from leather boots?

Worth a try (my daughter uses this method to clean grease from her saddle) -- sprinkle with talc, gently rub into stain, let stand about 15 minutes, vacuum off. May take more than one application. I assume you've alreadt tried saddle soap?
