This is a decadent appetizer for a party. Easy but impressive and delicious

Ingredients

  • 1 round of brie (can use a wedge but the cheese will ooze out the edges)
  • 2 - 3 bulbs of garlic
  • olive oil
  • Sliced baguette
  • sliced pears and/or apples
  • grapes

Directions

Slice large end of garlic bulbs, drizzle olive oil over cut ends and place in garlic roaster (or enclosed in aluminium foil inside a small casserole). Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour. Wrap brie round in aluminium foil and bake for last 20 minutes. Place both on platter, surrounded with sliced baguette and fruit and knives for spreading.

The garlic may be roasted ahead of time and reheated for the same time as the brie (20 minutes). Lemon juice may be used to stop the sliced fruit from browning. I get my brie rounds at Costco, for much less than the regular grocery store prices.
