Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas
  • 1/4 cup chopped maraschino cherries
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup nuts

Directions

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Sift flour and soda and add alternately with banana to egg mixture. Mix remaining ingredients. Pour into oiled large loaf or 2 small loaf pans and bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour. While still warm, drizzle with powdered sugar icing. Makes 1 large loaf or 2 small loaves.

I have maybe a dumb question. Is that baking soda the recipe calls for or really just any kind of soda, like soda pop? Thanks.
