Bleach Lightened Clothing

My daughter put a new navy jumper in a load of washing that had bleach in it now the jumper has faded and has a slight purple tinge to it. Can it be saved?

In other words, you can dye it, but it is ruined, nothing will undo the bleaching.

just wanted to add that your daughter isn't alone. when i was still at home i bleached my mom's new blouse (and she always spent money on good clothes) boy! was she mad! i got out of laundry duty for about a year after that. whether i wanted to or not. don't worry she gave me plenty of other stuff to do!

if the fabric came out kind of splotchy it will take dye the same way. you might try bleaching it out some more and then tye dying it. maybe some creative fabric paints or appliques?

Buy a bottle of Rit fabric dye in Navy - follow the instructions. It should do the trick. And while you're at it, throw in anything else that's navy and needs a boost of color.
