Ingredients:
- 1 cup scalded milk
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 beaten egg
- 3 1/2 cups flour
Directions:
Combine milk, shortening, sugar, and salt and cool to lukewarm. Add yeast which has been dissolved in warm water and beaten egg. Add flour and mix well. Knead and place in greased bowl to raise until double in bulk, about 2 hours. Turn out on board and shape as desired. Cover and let rise until double. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Makes 2 dozen.
