I am a teacher and High School club sponsor. We did a senior citizen dance last year. We called it "Moonlight Serenade"

Thanx, those all really helped. the crew really liked The memory lane idea. and we have the school band playing in it but the 50's music was a good idea

I would choose the music and build a theme around that. If you go back to when most of them were 17 or 18, you can figure out what kind of music they were listening to then. People usually grow up listening to their parents' music, so you could have a range of music. I'd enjoy a 50's sock hop theme. I'm 53 and my mother is in her 70's and we both like music from that era. Good luck.
