The use of a single floral plant in a less than exciting room will focus attention on the elegant simplicity of the flowers used and away from the mundane in the room. It can add a lot by just being placed in a strategic viewing area or by its unique-ness - such as an orchid, which are reasonably easy to maintain.

I have the same identical white orchid flowering at home!!!
The 3rd week of January '05, I was at a horticultural convention and we had orchids as centerpieces on the tables. At the end of the weekend they sold the orchids for $20 each. Mine had 2 flowers opened with 2-3 more buds coming. Now I have 10 flowers opened with another 5 more buds coming, and no end in sight on the end of the flower stalk. The original first flower still looks like new!! By the looks of it, I will have flowers blooming on this orchid til next Christmas!!! It's wonderful!!!
