Can anyone tell me how I can build a treadmill small enough for my standard dachshund? I got the idea from an Animal Cops episode where they confiscated one that was built to train pit bulls for fighting.

Believe me that's not what I want. I hate the idea of any animal being fought for money or any other reason. But I have a dachsie who's overweight and I am unable to walk her due to my own health problems. There are also too many mean strays in the area.

She's just not getting enough exercise in our fenced yard. I had a "people" treadmill before and she enjoyed it so I know she'd get on it. Can anyone tell me how to build one?

I don't know anything about tread mills in general (never even got on one until recently when began physical therapy and not allowed to lift weights again yet) but maybe there are compact sized human ones and maybe you could pick up one for really cheap through Craigslist? Even a regular sized one would give you cheap 'parts' if you can get a good Craigslist deal ;-)
