Earth Friendly Laundry

I just read this on "Earth Easy", great tips:

Line-drying your clothes will:

  • lower your utility bill
  • prevent shrinkage
  • prevent static cling
  • help clothing last longer
Washing your clothes with cold water will:
  • reduce energy costs 80 - 90%
  • be gentler on your clothing
  • have less impact on the environment

I just showed this little washer to my hubby (looking online). He has agreed that we can get one! Hooray! Should be quite the savings in electricity and water/detergent, too!!

What I was wondering is...does anyone know if you need to use a wringer, too? Or can you just use that little washer and hang on the line to dry?

Thanks! :)

I would also like to add a few more advantages of hanging out your clothes on the clothesline.

It gives you a bit of exercise hanging them out & them removing them. And your clothes smell wonderful especially sheets.
