Light and Tasty Biscuits

Ingredients:
  • 2 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • Butter or margarine

Directions:

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening with a fork till mixture resembles coarse corn meal. Add milk and blend lightly with a fork only until flour is moistened and dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Turn out on lightly floured board. Knead lightly for 30 seconds and roll 3/4" thick. Cut your biscuits and place on lightly greased pan. Brush tops of biscuits with butter or margarine. Bake at 475 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
