Butterscotch Layer Dessert

Ingredients

First Layer:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup margarine
Second Layer:
  • 1 pkg. cream cheese (8oz.)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Cool Whip
Third Layer:
  • 3 pkgs. instant butterscotch pudding (3oz. size)
  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 tsp. burnt sugar flavoring
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

First layer: Mix and bake in 9x13 inch cake pan for 15 minutes at 400 degrees F.

Second layer: Mix and spread over first layer.

Third layer: Spread over second layer and top with Cool Whip.

This is a great dessert! I usually use chocolate pudding rather than butterscotch and always get great reviews. My mother likes pistachio pudding. Neither of us adds the burnt sugar flavoring, but I suspect that it's great with the butterscotch pudding.
