Picking at a Glued Cut

My daughter got her cut glued a couple of days ago. Now she is picking at it constantly. Is it going to be harmful to her cut?

Call your doctor's office and ask.

It depends on how long it's been since she's been "glued". After about a week it starts to peel off by itself, earlier than that her laceration could easily open up again. If that happens many docs will not suture or reglue because the skin has already started to mend itself. She will end up with a scar and depending on where it is, it may need to be revised by a plastic surgeon later on.

It's likely to keep it from healing and may even cause an infection and could make the scar larger but the one to ask is the dr. or clinic who did the repair work.
