Deer or Elk Antlers as Dog Chews?

I have heard these are great for your dogs to chew on. When getting them do you have to worry about Chronic Waste disease or the TB that deer get? Would that affect the quality or wholesomeness of the antler or affect the dog?

This is a question best answered by your veterinarian and you should be able to get an answer without an office visit. Ask the receptionist to ask the doctor for the answer. Some receptionists like to play dr. and answer questions they really shouldn't.

It may sound gross but its actually very good for dogs, lots of calcium for them. If your a hunter like my dad then hoves are great for them too, plenty of protein in the nail.

You can also by cow hove in some pet store, it keeps them busy and healthy, even though it looks not to pleasant.

Thank you to Glenn's Mom. I did speak with our vet about deer antlers as dog chews and he highly discouraged it for health reasons. Thanks!
