Glass Stuck to an Oil Painting

I have an oil painting that is about 50 years old. It was framed and covered with glass. The glass has stuck to the painting. What can I do to save the painting? It is so pretty that I hate to have to toss, after finding it at a sale.

Use the hair dryer on the front of the framed photo glass. It is getting the glass warm enough to release it from the painting.
