I use dish soap on my husbands t-shirts even if the grease is dry it will still remove it. Get a good name brand dish soap put it on full strength, let it sit for an hour or two, wash in warm water. It cuts the grease.

Years ago I read a tip about using cheap shampoo to remove ring around the collar. I figured if shampoo would remove that 'grease and grime' it would also remove grease splatters from cooking. It 'does' work for that, and lots of other stuff too. I'm not sure about the chocolate, but it's worth a try.

Here is a homemade stain remover recipe for washable fabrics.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon glycerin 1 tablespoon liquid dishwashing soap (I like normal Dawn dishwashing liquid) 8 tablespoons water
Directions:
Put ingredients in a jar or plastic squeeze bottle and mix. Apply this mixture direction to grease and oil stains on washable fabrics. Let it sit for about 5 minutes and rinse it out. Wash as usual once the stain is removed.
RE: Oil and Grease Stain Remover
GOOP for handwashing works wonderfully on laundry stains that are greasy or food stains. I rub it into the stain, leave it for awhile than wash as usual; works better than any other product I have tried for greasy stains.
