Start With Room Temperature Water For Pasta |
|
|
In an effort to reduce energy consumption, put your pot of pasta water up on the stove early in the day. Let it come to room temperature. When it's time to cook, it will take less time to boil.
This tip save energy, time and money.

if you boil your water and add your pasta when the water starts boiling, then take off heat and wait for 15 minutes your pasta will be perfect.....drain and serve with your favorite pasta sauce. of course with the thiner pastas like vermicelli or angle hair you would only steep for 5 minutes....adjust times for altitude please. i got this off the back of a spaghetti package years ago and also was reminded of this on my favorite recipe site.... recipe zaar...

And don't forget to cover the pot. It will come to a boil much faster!
