There are lots of sticky, nasty things in our kitchens that we have to pick/clean up. When this happens, put your hand into a plastic grocery bag to pick up whatever it is and then just invert the bag and throw the sticky item away. Most of us have lots of those plastic grocery bags on hand anyway so this is a good use for them, too.

Tip: Pick Up Messes With Bags

Archived on 09/11/2006

Save bread bags and other dry plastic bags. When there is a mess to clean up, put the bag over your hand, pick up the mess, and pull the bag inside-out around the mess. Tie up and throw away.

I use these as "doggie clean up" bags when I walk them - and for the yard. (01/09/2005)

A good tip is to take a plastic bag with you when you walk your dog. Lot handier than lugging something clumbsy like a pooper scooper. (01/09/2005)
