Sausage Pilaf


  • 1 lb. bulk pork sausage (can use turkey sausage, if you like)
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • Ad
  • 1/4 cup chopped pimento
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice
  • 1/2 tsp. sage
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter


Brown sausage; drain off fat. Add celery, onion and green pepper; cook until tender. Combine remaining ingredients except bread crumbs and margarine. Pour into 1 1/2 qt. casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes, stirring occasionally. Mix crumbs and butter and sprinkle over top. Bake 20 minutes more. Makes 6 servings.
