I used Pledge on a shiny, solid wood dining table and it streaked and dulled it in places. It wasn't my table; please tell me what I need to do.

There's polish and then there's wax for furniture. The polish doesn't build up on the surface like wax does. Try buffing the surface with lamb's wool cloth or other very soft buffing material. If you don't have this, go to Auto Zone or Walmart and inquire.
