This is great when you are out of dry onion soup. It is easy to make your own.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup dried minced onion
  • 4 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed celery seed
  • 1/4 tsp. sugar
  • 1/3 cup beef flavor bouillon

Directions:

Mix together well. Stir before using. 1 package equals 1 oz. Makes 8 oz.

I love this! I have never seen a recipe for dry soup mix and have always felt like I had to go buy some whenever I needed it for a recipe. Thanks!

Recipe: Onion Soup Mix (Copycat)

When you prepare meatloaf, pot roast, beef stew, etc., why buy those little packets of onion soup when you probably have all these ingredients in your kitchen already?

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup beef bouillon
  • 3/4 cup minced onion
  • 4 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed celery seed
  • 1/4 tsp. sugar

Directions:

Mix together all of the ingredients and store in an airtight container. Five tablespoons of this mix is equal to one (1.25-oz) package.
