I'm not familiar with many languages, but know that a word pronounced the same or similarly have different spellings and are extremely different in meanings in different languages. Differing languages also have specific suffixes or prefixes that will change meanings too. I remember my grandparents using that word to mean "cat" in their native tongue, but do not know of its spelling.

we have a dachshund named MISHKA II. we had a cock-a-poo that was named Mishka an loved the name so when this little one came along we named her the same. you are the only other one that I have ever heard of knowing of this name. we think it is such a pretty name.
