Making Dishcloths

I've joined a dish cloth swap. Most of the ladies are knitting or crocheting theirs. I don't do either, but was hoping that I might be able to still make one out of fabric that I could embellish somehow.

What type of fabric would I buy? Does anyone have any cute ideas to make it look like "something"? I'm also hoping to be able to use the heat and bond strips to do this. Thanks for any help. Teri

Sorry, it's not Heat 'n Bond, but sounds easy to sew.
