I've never heard of Goof Off. Do you mean Goo Gone?

Yes to Goo Gone! I do it whenever gum ends up on my dryer drum! I use Goof Off for cleaning up paint stains.

If you use Goo Gone, it will leave an oily residue.
Make sure you clean it all off before using your dryer again.

Not exactly sure what you are trying to get out with Goof Off. If it is gum, I would use it, but clean really well afterward due to the residue.

If it is crayon or pen you are trying to get off, magic eraser works really well.
