Aluminum Foil as Alternative to Fabric Sheets

If you don't have fabric sheets or just don't want to buy them, try using aluminum foil instead! Crumple up a sheet of aluminum foil into a ball and toss it into the dryer. It eliminates static cling, lasts a long, long time, and costs practically nothing!

I've tried this before & it never did work for me. Neither did vinegar. Maybe it's just my machine or the air in my home,I don't know.

I've heard other people say it works for them.

Anything is worth a try if it will save money.

Love the simplicity, gotta try it, I love "homemade stuff".

Maybe it's time I tried this. I have discovered adding a couple of capfuls to the wash cycle help deodorize, especially if I manually stop the load and soak it for up to an hour. A couple more capfuls also soften the load very nicely, but leaves the problem of static cling.

Next time we buy aluminum foil, I'm going to crumple some into a ball in order to try this tip. I think I recall, it's about a tennis-ball size lump.

I have been using the aluminum foil balls but they don't work for me with the static cling.

Be careful! I used one and thought it great, it even heated up to speed drying UNTIL I found that it was breaking off the "paddles" or whatever you call them in a dryer that helps toss the clothes not stick to sides of dryer. At first I thought some black plastic bits had somehow got into the laundry until I felt the sharp edges inside my dryer. Loved it until bad stuff happened to my clothes and dryer. Be careful
