Abused Dog Afraid of Loud Voices?

black and white Pit BullI recently adopted a year and a half old Pit Bull that was abused. She is a total sweet heart. But when I raise my voice she always runs away in fear. She even cries sometimes. I don't know how to get her to stop barking for no reason when she is outside.

Looks like you have two separate problems.

For the outdoor barking you need an "e collar." Note that this is NOT a "shock" collar. Real shock collars are not sold in the US.
This is ideal for a rescued dog. It puts out a vibration like the one on your cell phone. Also, she doesn't know you're the one pressing the button if she can't see you do it.

For the voice fear: This is a learned reaction and can be unlearned. Use little pieces of food she can't resist like real chicken. Wait until she smells it.
Talk to her, give her a treat. Say something like "Good girl."
Then raise your voice just a little and do it again. When she starts to get nervous, stop. You'll have to work with her every day raising your voice just a bit at a time.
