Apple Blueberry Pie with Hearts in panInstead of using 2 pie doughs crusts, you can roll out 1 crust a bit thinner and use the extra pieces as hearts on top. Less dough and you still get to enjoy this delicious apple blueberry pie. Serves perfectly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

Prep Time: 5-10 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour, 25 minutes

Total Time: 1 hour, 30 minutes

Yield: 1 pie

Ingredients:

  1. Roll your packaged pie dough crust a little thinner. Fit into your pie pan. Add pie weights and bake for 15-20 minutes until brown at 350 F.

  3. Remainder scraps, I used heart cookie cutter to make a bunch of hearts for the pie crust topping. You can use any other cookie cutter you have on hand if you'd like to make that as the theme topping.

  5. Peel and cut the apples. I personally used honey crisp apples.

  7. In a large bowl - add apple slices, blueberries, mix with cornstarch, sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 350 for about an hour, or until ready depending on your oven.
