Banana Spider (Marysville, TN)

Photo Description
I captured these photos of one of the Banana Spiders in our tomato bed. This is also known as a zipper spider because of the zipper like pattern in the middle of its web. We have let it stay in the garden because it is so beautiful and it doesn't bother us when we are picking tomatoes. I go out at different times of the day to take pictures of the spiders. We have two more of these spiders in other gardens. They are beautiful spiders.

Just beautiful! I watch for them every year near my home. Usually, one will build her web on my porch. I never bother them, because they are so pretty and never bother us.

We call them writing spiders. If you see your name written in the web, your days are numbered!
