Bathroom Paint Color Advice?

I am refurbishing a tiny bathroom. The toilet, vanity top, sink, shower, and door/baseboard trim are all white. The cabinets are a neutral sort of blonde wood and the floor is a cream color. I want to paint the walls a light blue. Does the bathroom have to match the hallway and other rooms that lead to the bathroom? They are shades of sage green.

No, they do not. I think light blue is an excellent colour, and gives you a nice range of colours for matching towels -- white, cream, any shade of blue, dusty rose, yellow, grey--lots of choices!
