These are so cute! Perfect for birthdays or any celebration :-)
Place paper baking cup in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups. Make and bake cake mix as directed on box for 24 cupcakes. Cool completely.
Frost cupcakes with frosting made as directed. Using kitchen scissors, cut each marshmallow crosswise into 4 slices. (Hint: oil/grease scissor blades to keep marshmallows from sticking to blades.) Sprinkle slices with colored sugar. Arrange 5 slices on each cupcake in flower shape. Place candle in center of each flower.

This isn't my tip but I thought it was clever. Instead of cake at a kid's birthday party, make cupcakes. You can push them together if you want and ice the whole lot to look like one cake or do what my daughter did. She saw in a magazine a barnyard cake and the cupcakes were decorated like different animals. It was so cute. Each kid chose an animal to eat and the adults ate the barnyard.

I'm looking for a cake made out of cupcakes for a child' birthday party.

Perhaps you could just make the cupcakes and arrange them to look like a stacked cake (traditional or wedding style) or arranged to look like a sheet cake?
Hi! If you look on FamilyFun.com you might find some recipes for cakes made out of cupcakes. I think that I have found some there before.
Arrange them to form the child's age. Any extra can be on a plate placed anywhere on the table.
