Bug Sculpture - bug added to flowers and tea pot bird feeder from other projectsI made this with broken a patio chair and misc metal pieces. This is what happens when your husband stands on a patio chair, falls off, and it breaks! You make a bug sculpture! We used all of the chair except the seat which was actually the only part of the chair that broke and was unuseable.

You need to use your imagination with this project, purchasing metal pieces that resemble a bug's wings, tail, head, etc. I just got lucky!

Supplies:

Bug Sculpture - broken chair
 
Bug Sculpture - chair with broken leg
 
Bug Sculpture - chair parts and other miscellaneous metal parts
 

Steps:

  1. Drill hole in a plate for the face. Drill holes into the back of a patio chair and attach to legs with nut, bolt, and washers to form the bug body.
    2. Bug Sculpture - stylized Kokopelli plate

  2. Attach head, wings, and tail with zip ties to hold in place. Then, wire the parts together and remove zip ties.

  3. Spray paint. Allow to dry.
    4. Bug Sculpture - spray painted white
     
  4. Attach face (plate) to head of insect using a washer, nut, and bolt to look like a nose. Here is our "bug" in his home among our glass flowers!
    5. Bug Sculpture - face (plate) attached and bug placed in garden
